NFU Mutual allocates a £1.92m national fund to support local frontline charities, NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund.

To ensure that this fund is distributed across the UK, NFU Mutual invited its Sherborne agency to nominate a local charity to receive an equal share of this fund, a magnificent donation of £6,509, and Sherborne Food Bank is grateful to be the recipient. The Agency Giving Fund forms part of NFU Mutual’s £3.25m funding pledge for local and national charities during 2024.

The Food Bank was pleased to host a visit from Richard Wallis, Locum Agency Manager for the NFU Mutual in Sherborne, accompanied by his colleagues Liz, Sophie and Ellie, on 27th June 2024. We introduced them to volunteers who were busy packing emergency food parcels for that week’s deliveries, explained to them how we work and discussed how the donation from NFU Mutual would be invested for the benefit of our continuing work in the community.

Richard Wallis said:

It was an absolute pleasure and a really uplifting and positive experience to meet with part of the amazing network of volunteers who were supporting the Food Bank on the day. They were incredibly busy doing their well organised and hectic activities but still found time to make us feel very welcome and explain how it all works. What a fantastic service you all provide, and we’re delighted to have been able to help you with the NFU Mutual donation.

NFU Mutual has been a regular and significant donor to Sherborne Food Bank, and it is truly appreciated. Without such generous support we would be unable to continue our vital emergency food delivery service to families in need within Sherborne and the surrounding villages.
